<>PS. Jeff, be my guest to leave a 10,000 word essay on what is wrong with this post...there may be someone out in web-land who actually cares, but I don't. I've wasted too much time this year trying to decipher your long-winded but ultimately vacuous posts and I've given up. It is clear to me that you have bought into The Fear, hook, line, & sinker, and I believe that is exactly what the terrorist intended: to take way our freedom and dignity as they believe we have taken theirs. I too fear--that you and much our country will not loose The Fear before it is too late.

What fun! I am enjoying the comparisons greatly.

Lessons in perspective come cheaply when they are learned from someone else's mistakes...Except for Bush's of course. The lessons we are learning from his mistakes are paid in blood, and the indentured servitude of the next generation trying to pay off the debt he has amassed on his cronies (not our) behalf.

I can see why some might feel a bit overwhelmed by my husband, Jeff. He is a salesperson after all, very competitive, and also very smart. He has a passion for current events at this time. Both he and I had an "epiphany" from two coinciding events - 9/11 and the birth of our 1st son just a couple months later. Both he and I were transformed by that experience in many ways, one of the most profound being that suddenly what was going in the world and with foreign relations was no longer a philosophical debate, it meant our very lives and our child's life was at stake. We now see events not just for themselves, but what we envision the consequences will be 50 years from now. Bush appeals to us because he talks about the big picture, and makes decisions based on maximizing peace in the longer term. I've never once heard Kerry discuss anything resembling long term peace. I'm what they have termed a "Security Mom", and evidently I'm not the only one. Today's NBC/Wall St. Journal poll shows Bush ahead among WOMEN 18-49. The biggest issue for married women 18-49 is National security at 57%.
